20 YEARS of HK !!!!!!

On 1 September 2000 HK Training & Consultancy commenced business in a small room under Kate’s house to deliver Home and Community Care Training across the whole of the Northern Territory. The work definitely had its challenges, technology and travel were very different back then! 20 years on we addressed the challenges and technology and travel become better. HK is so proud of all we have achieved in this time and proud that we are still going strong.

Over the past 20 years we have worked in communities all across the Northern Territory. HK Money Management continues to do valuable work across West Arnhem, the Darwin Town Camps, Belyuen and the Darwin Renal Unit.

Unfortunately, the funding for the Aged Care Training we had been delivering across 13 communities in the Top End for the past 10 years ceased on 30 June 2020. We hope to find some way to still get out there and deliver essential Aged Care training, the importance of which COVID 19 has highlighted. HK must thank the tireless and quality work done in Aged Care by Sharon Kendall and Julie McCrohan.

Sharon was also the driving force and expertise in the production of the national Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Aged Care Training Resources developed by HK. These resources, although now a bit old, still receive positive feedback and have been used by many across Australia. Sharon’s passion and commitment to the work has helped HK become recognised as a leader in remote Aged Care training in the Northern Territory.

HK has had some other amazing staff over the years and HK has always supported their professional development and seen many go on to do fantastic things across the Territory. Some of the staff can’t stay away and have returned to work with us again.

Special mention to Toni Cork who has worked with HK twice starting back in 2000 as the office trainee. After returning in 2012, she became our General Manager leading the Money Management Team in 2013. Her contribution to HK has been outstanding and the business would not be where it is without her contribution.

From day one HK has been committed to providing quality services to all our clients 20 years on and we are still going strong and look forward to continuing to work with you and your community.
