Money Management

Our organisation focuses on improving financial literacy and knowledge to individuals and Indigenous communities by providing education and intensive support in Money Management.

About our Money Management Service

HKTC Money Management Services works in the West Arnhem Land and Kakadu communities of Gunbalanya, Jabiru, Mudginberri, Warruwi and Minjilang as well as Belyuen, Bagot, Knuckeys Lagoon, Minmirama Park, Palmerston Indigenous Village, One Mile Dam, Kululuk and the Nightcliff Renal Centre.

We also provide support to individuals and families through the use of tools and resources to develop budgets, debt management plans, savings goals, understanding banking products and services and also assisting clients with bill paying.

Empowering people

Our team empowers people to:

  • make better and informed decisions about managing their money
  • plan and set goals for items such as white goods, furniture, cars, boats and leisure goods and to put something aside for their children and the future
  • better use financial services to manage their household funds and access technology such as ATMs and phone and internet banking
  • be aware of their rights and responsibilities as consumers and know how to avoid exploitation when using their money
  • better deal with financial hardship and money stresses.
