A Positive End to 2018

Over the last few weeks HK Money Management team have had a busy finish to what has been a very busy and rewarding year for the team. On Monday the 10th of December the Money Management team along with Iron Bark, Top End Women’s Legal Service (TEWLS), NT Legal Aid and ACCC held community events at both Knuckeys Lagoon and Palmerston Indigenous village.

With the BBQ cooking and some little show bags made up by the organisations it didn’t take long for the people to start rolling in. With some familiar faces and new faces the yarning started between organisation and person, this was important to see if the people in these town communities needed some help with money matters, legal issues or anything related to the organisations before we all head off for the Christmas break.

The day was such a success at both Knuckeys and PIV with more than 50 people coming out to both town camps enjoying the day. Kids running around, interacting with new faces and sharing a feed it was a good way to sign off with these two town communities for 2018!

Fast forward a week and it was our last visit to Bagot on 19th December this was another community event with Yilli Rreung Housing Aboriginal Corp, TEWLS, Larakia Corporation, Ironbark and many more government organisations. With another BBQ cooking and plenty of fruit to go around the people of Bagot came out.

The Fines Recovery Unit and Birth Deaths and Marriages were set up with computers sorting out peoples fines and also printing out birth certificates for the people of Bagot.

Just like Knuckeys and PIV everyone had little stalls set up with some goodies and this was a hit with the kids putting on their new hats ,sunnies and filling up there new water bottles. To finish off the day there was a Merry Christmas cake and we all said our good byes for 2018!

On behalf of the team at HK Training and Consultancy we would like to wish you a magical and blissful holiday! Have a Merry Christmas and prosperous New Year!
